Staying well this Ramadan

Ramazan working hours

Greetings and well wishes on the occasion of Ramazan. Though there will be no major changes to the operating hours of the hospital, please note the following working hours. Specialist services will not be available on the first of Ramazan, however, general medical officers will continue to work in the outpatient department and emergency services. Normal services will resume starting Saturday, 20 June 2015.
 

Nurses complete basic life support training

A training program for nurses were held at the School of Health Sciences, ADK Hospital from 8-9 June 2015, as part of continuing medical education. These programs are designed to improve the skills of practicing nurses and update their knowledge on modern practices of life support.
 

Patient advisory - dengue fever

Dengue cases increase during this time of the year and we expect case number to increase this year as well. Especially, since statistics show that a peak in dengue occurs every three years, this year represents the third year since the last peak in the disease. Prevention of Dengue is possible through control of mosquito population and preventing mosquito bite. Every household must contribute to elimination of mosquito breeding sites.
 

The Hospital donates over MVR67,000.00 to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

The staff and management of the hospital today donated a sum of MVR67,970.22 to the Nepal earthquake relief fund. This fund was opened as a joint effort by the Maldives Medical Association and the Maldivian Red Crescent Society in an effort to raise funds for the relief of the April 25, 2015 earthquake that has devastated the livelihood of many Nepalese people.
